Like a lot of other people, I’ve never been the best at drawing hands. When drawing them using blocks and other 3D shapes I get something that at least resembles a hand well enough to know it actually is one, but that’s as far as it gets.
To get started, I drew some hands using references. Pictures that other artists have uploaded showing how they draw hands, which I just duplicated to get a bit of an idea.
Drawing some all cartoony like that didn’t exactly work out though, so that picture is not included here. I just moved on to realistically drawing some hands.

This worked out pretty well, so I’ll just have to draw a lot more hands before I can switch over to stylizing them!
As a follow-up to this assignment, we had to blindly draw our hands during class. We had to look at our hands as we drew, but weren’t allowed to look at the page/what we were drawing. It was sort of a tracing task, except you don’t get to actually see what you draw so you just have to base everything purely on what you see.

This actually went a lot better than expected, and it really made you focus on the way a hand is shaped. The outlines of your hand, how long a finger is..
Afterwards, we continued with this but compared to before, we were allowed to look at our pages once in a while.

Still not perfect but closer to how it actually looks.
Once this was finished we moved on to just drawing our hands without any special rules.
